The Bay City Ballet company was created to develop the student’s sense of dance and performing abilities by participating in theatrical programs, often times alongside seasoned professional dancers from such companies as the New York City Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Pacific Northwest Ballet to name a few.
Our repertoire includes major productions of classic ballets such as Swan Lake, Act II; A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Graduation Ball; Paquita; Peter and the Wolf; and also our tremendously successful production of the holiday classic The Nutcracker.
The classics are not the only element of dance that is presented by our company. We are often excited to add original choreography by our faculty and guest choreographers in the field of modern dance to our repertory as well.

Admission to the company is voluntary, however, the productions are mounted outside of regular class time so as not to take away from the consistancy of training. Rehearsals for the performances of classical ballet and modern works are an extremely important part of advanced dance training. They develop musicality, endurance, choreographic memory, and stage presence as the student prepares for professional life, not to mention the sense of discipline and responsibility required to make it in any professional career.
